SESSIONS AT THE DAVIS ACADEMY MIDDLE SCHOOL:

June 21-25
10:00-1:00.................The Little Stars...................................rising Pre-K to Rising 1st



Our little Stars will perform on the BIG stage after they have spent the week dressing in costumes every day and acting out their favorite characters from Disney, learning their songs, and dance movements, playing with stage make-up to get it just right, all for their performance- just for you! Remember to bring your cameras


10:00-3:00................... Playfest! Presents Mystery, Pirates, & Princesses.............rising 2nd- rising 6th grades

Playfest! Students write, create, design and perform an original play around Pirates and Princesses and then present on the BIG stage the most beloved, fun, and requested summer camp play EVER!, our camp annual favorite…Mystery on the Run! All in 5 days while exploring the magical world of theatre through theatre games, creative movement, costumes, make-up, stage fighting, dance, props, and pizza party!



10:00-3:00.................. The Teen Scene:ARE YOU READY FOR PRIME TIME?
Glee Club,Improv, Acting on Camera and On-Air-Anchoring.....rising 7th grade & up

On-stage performance for the teen actor aspiring to work professionally, or teen actors perfecting their acting & performance skills. This week will focus on staging improv comedy shows, staging Glee Club musical arrangements with choreography, and Acting on Camera for TV, Film, Commercials, and On-Air Anchoring.

Little Stars performance begins @ 12:00 p.m.
The Broadway Bound Friday Extravaganza Show begins @ 1:30 p.m.




July 19-July 23
10:00-3:00................. Playfest! Presents Sweets to the Sweet and Willy Wonka! ...............................rising 2nd-rising 6th grades

Playfest! On- Stage performance on the BIG stage. Students write, create, design and perform an original play around Shakespeare’s famous line “Sweets to the Sweet” and also will present the 30 minute musical version of “Willy Wonka”! Five days of Wonder exploring the magical world of theatre!!! End of week Pizza Party.

The Playfest Show begins @ 1:00 p.m.




July 19-30
TWO WEEK BROADWAY PERFORMANCE, AUDITION, AND PRODUCTION BOOT CAMP!
Ages 9-17, by audition only, previous training and performance experience REQUIRED

New for 2010, the Broadway Bound TWO WEEK PRODUCTION Boot Camp. Actors, Singers and Dancers with previous training, for ages 8-17, will produce a fully staged Broadway Musical at the end of the camp for agents and industry professionals!

Broadway, and T.V. Actress Kate Guyton will join Theatre Director Ms. Kendrick , her staff of professional actors , degreed theatre teachers and professional accompanists to produce this exciting and not to be missed opportunity!

Do NOT miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to train with and receive individual instruction from Ms. Guyton who can be seen on PBS Great Performances in Cyrano De Bergerac with Kevin Kline and Jennifer Garner! She is one of the most sought after instructors at the prestigious New York University's CAP 21 program. Ms. Guyton has been instrumental in launching numerous professional careers in NYC! Space is limited, remember you must audition.

During the two week production process, students will attend classes in audition skills/technique, vocal coaching, song selection, preparing a monologue, cold reads, microphone technique, dance for musical theatre, headshot and resume writing, acting technique, career planning, the ins and outs of show business, tech theatre. You will be personally critiqued and guided by industry professionals.

To register for the Broadway Performance production camp, please mail your registration form, deposit, headshot and resume or picture plus resume to The Metropolitan Theatre Conservatory, PO Box 889082, Atlanta, GA. 30356.

To schedule your audition time, please email Ms. Kendrick at Kendrick@metropolitanconservatory.com with the subject line "BBC PRODUCTION CAMP AUDITION"

If you wish to be on crew or technical theatre duties only, you do not need to schedule an audition.

The show will be selected from the following Broadway musicals: Once on this Island, Dear Edwina, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Schoolhouse Rock, Seussical, or Beauty and the Beast.

Auditions for placement and roles will be scheduled over several Sundays in February, March, and April. Final auditions for lead roles will be May 31st.

You will need to come to auditions with a CD of your choice and be prepared to sing 16 to 32 bars of a song from it.

All actors attending the Production camp will be cast in the show either as a chorus, support, featured, or lead role. All actors and crew may pick up their scripts and CD’s the weeks of June 1st- June 11th.

Summer Camp 2010 Registration & Discounts:

  • $50 off for additional sibling(s)
  • $25 off each additional session.

  • $175 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit required. Tuition is NON-REFUNDABLE. NO REFUNDS. Tuition may be used towards future camps if you are unable to attend the week for which you registered.

  • Remaining camp balances are due by April 15th.

  • $25 charge for changing camps during the 2 week period prior to start date.


  • Before care and after-care services are not provided. Drop-off to camp begins 10 minutes prior to the star time of each session, should you arrive early please wait in the car with your camper(s), as staff is busy setting up for arrival and cannot provide supervision before this time.

    Pick-up is promptly at each dismissal time. We follow the FCBE standard policy for late pick-up. The first 10 minutes after dismissal time are free, every minute after the grace period is $1 per minute for every minute until parent/guardian/assigned carpool driver arrives. Please make every effort to leave in enough time to promptly pick up your camper(s).

CAMP NOTES:

  • Snacks will be provided.
  • Please bring a sack lunch. At the Davis Academy location, on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday of the camp week, students have the option to bring lunch money and order Pizza or Chinese Food for Lunch, which they always highly enjoy!!!
  • Actors should wear comfortable clothes to move in, and a light sweater for the morning. Remember to pack shoes that can be danced in easily, if an actor has ballet slippers or character,jazz, tap shoes please bring them with you.

  • End of week presentation each Friday.
  • The Little Stars show is approx. 30-40 minutes long.
  • All Broadway Bound Shows are approx.60-70 minutes long.

  • Performance Material varies with each session and camper demographics.
